Illusions

This optical illusion makes the parallel straight horizontal lines appear to be bent.

Street art, painted onto a flat road giving the illusion that the road has fallen away.

The Magic Eye is a 3D object hidden inside a 2D pattern, they are a highly developed form of a stereogram.

This is a good example of a physical illusion with the tap appearing to have no pipe, suspended in mid air and still gushing water.

Once I had chosen sight as my sense I immediately thought of optical illusions and other types of visual illusions. I thought it would be a good idea to see if I could combine some sort of illusion or detailed pattern onto some sort of object that could be picked up and manipulated.

There are many different kinds of illusions some are physical structures while others are drawn or 2d illusions, all which trick the eye and mind into seeing something different to the reality. They have always been of interest to me since I started to do the magic eye puzzles at a young age.
